CMP Group Ltd. updates Trollmaster product installation instructions

CMP Group Ltd. is providing notification of a product update regarding the installation of the Trollmaster TMPRO3PLUS and the TMPROANGLER steering and throttle control systems. Consumers should immediately stop using the Trollmaster systems, and contact CMP Group Ltd. for new installation instructions illustrating how to properly install the product wiring systems. The updated installation instructions are also available on the CMP Group Ltd. and Trollmaster websites at https://cmpgroup.thinairweb.co/product-notice/. CMP Group and sellers of the products are sending updated instructions to known purchasers.

Name of Products: Trollmaster™ PRO 3+ Kit, Trollmaster™ PRO Angler Kit and Trollmaster™ TM Pro

UNITS: Approximately 8500 units

HAZARD: The installation and routing of the Trollmaster wires within the trolling/kicker motor may result in electromagnetic interference, which may result in the fluctuation of speed and responsiveness. Even though the products are designed for use on trolling/kicker motors (small supplementary sources of propulsion), this could cause occupants to potentially lose their balance if standing in the boat. The installation instructions could result in consumers inadvertently route wires near high voltage wire harnesses, potentially causing electrical interference. This could cause unexpected throttle control, which could result in a potential loss of balance while operating the trolling/kicker motor.

INCIDENTS: CMP Group Ltd. has received (24) twenty four reports of the Trollmaster units unexpectedly fluctuating in speed and responsiveness. No injuries have been reported.

SOLD AT: CWR Electronics, Land n Sea, Bass Pro Shops, Amazon, Northern Wholesale Supply Inc., Donovan Marine, Hannay’s Inc., US Distributing, Lorenz & Jones, Western Marine, Boat Owners World, and Marine Wholesale.

Warning for Possible Ladder Defect

July 7, 2020

CMP Group Ltd. is notifying you of a possible defective ladder tread on the Dock Edge ladder models DE2053F, DE2054F, DE2055F, DE2043F, DE2044F and DE2045F. The potential defect is related to a sharp edge that might be found on the outside edge of the ladder step tread. If the ladder is not assembled correctly, and/or tightened properly, the edge of the ladder tread may be exposed. This edge may be sharp or expose a burr in the metal, thus resulting in a potential cutting hazard for anyone using the ladder.

We have undertaken corrective action in our manufacturing process to implement a new procedure to eliminate any sharp edges. As such all new and future production for the noted ladders will include this process, and thus ensuring that this potential hazard will no longer occur.

We kindly ask that you quarantine any existing inventory of the noted ladders. We will replace your existing inventory with new ladders, or provide you with a credit on account once the ladders are returned to our warehouse. Should you have any questions please contact our customer service department at vaughanwarranty@cmpgroup.net or your CMP sales representative.

Assuring you of our continued ongoing commitment to safety and quality products.

Yours Sincerely,
Don Hambly
President
